The new film X-Men Origins: Wolverine starring Australian actor Hugh Jackman was set to premiere May 1st in Mexico City but was postponed as the city is on hold with the virulent virus that has claimed the lives of more than 100 people.
Jackman plays Wolverine, the near indestructible mutant with the bad mood and razor-sharp claws in the highly popular X-Men movie franchise. The first three films have grossed $1.2 billion, and this latest film is skedded to be the first blockbuster hit of the summer. Hugh has worked hard to get the look of the main character, spending a year in training, getting that sculpted body through lifting weights and boosting his dietary intake. After falling off a horse at a friend’s home in the Hamptons on Saturday, Madonna is on the mend and anxious to “get back in the saddle”. When she fell, she was reportedly wearing full riding gear including a helmet. Her injuries weren’t considered serious, but as a precaution, Madonna was taken to Southampton Hospital in Long Island, N.Y. where she was admitted with bruises and minor injuries. The 50-year old pop superstar was discharged a few hours later apparently none the worse for wear. She spent the next day at friend Gwyneth Paltrow’s nearby home resting and recuperating, according to the New York Daily News. Read the rest of this entry »

Zac Efron has reportedly dropped out of the remake for Footloose after two years of prep work. The popular 1984 film that featured Kevin Bacon is being updated by director Kenny Ortega with the hope that tween star Efron would attract a younger audience.
Apparently the 21-year old star of the High School Musical movies doesn’t want to be typecast as working primarily in big movie musicals. The Disney franchise has been good to Efron but he feels it is time to expand his horizons and challenge himself. Read the rest of this entry »
